The Red Summer dress… 50s Vogue is eternal!

I love the midcentury elegance of this dress- and what a great photo by Clifford Coffin. This was featured in Vogue Pattern Book, February-March 1951. Definitely a pattern I am watching for (if I told you the number, you might start searching for it too)! I particularly like the way this was made so the pattern carefully (and neatly) diverges… very nicely done.

  1. It’s pretty but you could totally draft the cowl neckline onto pretty much any froufrou frock pattern that fits you. Cowls are just slash and spread. If you need directions download the books I’ve got up on Friday Freebies XD
